RIKISHI – UNDISCLOSED
Just like in any sport, injuries are common in professional wrestling. In 2001, returning from shoulder surgery, Rikishi became 30 pounds lighter than he was a year before. However, he began to gain significant weight in 2004 and it caused the completion of his career in the WWE. Since then, Rikishi hasn’t managed to lose weight, perhaps due to factors like genetics, eating habits, and lifestyle. Nevertheless, Rikishi continued to wrestle in the independent circuit.
Though not much information is available regarding Rikishi’s diet or weight loss, he is reportedly still active in the wrestling industry and is bringing in business investments. One article online reported that Rikishi will be training the rapper Bow Wow to wrestle in WWE, saying that it will be good business for the industry. It was a strategic business move to bring in more fans into the wrestling scene. Aside from the rapper, Rikishi also has students that train under him.
