Enjoy it while it lasts! Lorde is only 24 years old, which explains her fresh and youthful glow. The Grammy winner may typically appear with heavy makeup, but there is nothing to hide, really. The Royals singer still looks as pretty even when she is bare-faced. Born Ella Marija Lani Yelich-O’Connor to civil engineer and poet parents, Lorde inherited the genius in their blood. Her former school concluded that she was a gifted child at age 6.

Impressively, she won the runner-up in a global literature competition called Kids’ Lit Quiz World Finals in 2009. While growing up, the young musician learned to write songs by reading short fiction. Her influence in music includes American jazz and soul musicians Etta James, Billie Holiday, Otis Redding, and Sam Cooke. Lorde’s investments in the music industry earned her several accolades, including New Artist of The Year by Billboard Awards and International Female Solo Artist by Brit Awards.
