RON HOWARD – $3.4 MILLION, ENCINO, CALIFORNIA

This particular property must be a hard one to let go of for famed filmmaker, Ron Howard. After all, he first bought this family home back in 1979, around the same time he switched from acting to directing. As you might recall, he first gained popularity for his role on The Andy Griffith Show as Opie during the ‘60s. By the time the ‘70s rolled around, however, he was ready to jump into something new.

His successful directorial debut, for the comedy film Grand Theft Auto, enabled him to do just that. This ranch-style home in Encino comes with considerable indoor and outdoor space. Known as Rancho Estates, it was built by Robert Byrd and features hardwood beams, whitewashed brick, panoramic windows, multiple patios, and a guesthouse. It certainly is worth any home loans the new owner might have taken out to seal the deal.
